Celebrating and Honoring Neurodiversity

All Neurotypes believes that all neurotypes and experiences are valid.

“You are a human being, and your life can be rich, full, complete, fulfilling, and meaningful on that basis alone.”

The goal of All Neurotypes is to appreciate and celebrate neurodivergent communication. We believe in the inherent value of every neurotype, every way of thinking, and every mode of communication. More generally, we believe deeply in the inherent value of each person.

All Neurotypes is dedicated to building inclusive, sensory friendly, communities while offering positive supports for neurodivergent individuals as well as supporting other communities with shared goals. We are additionally committed to ongoing learning, both about neurodivergence and in general.

Finally, we are passionate about access to healthcare (including mental health care) for autistic individuals. One of our niche areas of focus is exploring pathways for healing after therapy harm or abuse, and understanding how mediation and restorative justice approaches may be helpful.

How we define Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity refers to the varied ways in which people think, process information, experience sensory input, and otherwise perceive the world. Some forms of neurodivergence include autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, intellectual disabilities, and more.

We view neurodiversity from the belief that all brains are beautiful. Instead of viewing these diagnoses as a list of perceived “deficits” to be fixed, we view these differences as a valuable form of diversity - which the world needs.

  • Restorative justice and healing from therapy abuse or harm

One of our areas of interest is therapy harm and abuse, and the often deep and complex impact it can leave on those involved. We’re particularly interested in exploring what a restorative justice approach to therapy harm—and to harm more broadly—might look like. Our aim is to develop resources that could be helpful to both therapists and people who have experienced harm in clinical settings; as well as to amplify existing resources or approaches.

  • Clinician and therapist support program

We are thrilled to launch our clinician support program in 2025. This program aims to provide therapists and other clinicians with mini-grants to support free or sliding scale services to neurodivergent individuals. To supplement our mini-grant, we are offering periodic discussion/reflection groups for clinicians to discuss topics related to neurodiversity-affirming clinical services as well as accessibility and inclusion more generally.

  • Databases

We are currently developing a Neurodiversity in Colour database and also are working on a (currently very tiny!) database of research studies focused on quality of life in autistic individuals.

  • Training Programs

Our training programs are designed to help parents, teachers, and clinicians better understand the perspectives of neurodivergent children. We provide an introduction to neurodiversity and discuss the over-looked benefits of repetitive movement, autistic play, echolalia, and more!
